When: Sunday, June 27th, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

What: Carroll County Public Schools – Camp Thrive – would like some dog teams to visit with their kids to provide some smiles. Approx. 30 kids in groups of 10 will rotate through visiting our teams. Camp Thrive serves middle-schoolers whose lives have been touched by addiction-related loss or trauma.

Where: Camp Thrive is held near the Bear Branch Nature Center, 310 John Owings Rd, Westminster, MD 21158. Enter at Bear Branch and go left to the campsite. There is a covered pavilion to use in the event of rain.

COVID Precautions: Site – whatever the park service’s current requirements may be. KPETS General – Visiting volunteers must have a signed KPETS volunteer agreement COVID-19 addendum on file with KPETS and follow current CDC, state, local and the visit site’s COVID-19 guidelines during each visit. A staff person must be present during the entire visit.  Everyone should wash their hands/use hand sanitizer before and after petting the animals. Social distancing must be followed by our handler and participants. If participants or our volunteers are uncomfortable at any time or believe the precautions are not being followed they will end the visit immediately for the safety of all. No one should participate if they are feeling at all unwell. Visits may be cancelled at the last minute due to the fluid status of state and local COVID precautions.
