What: Ephrata Area High School’s Life Skills class would like three dog teams to visit as part of a program on animal care. This visit will be outside weather permitting. Indoor space is available in the event of rain. You must enter through the door to the left of the entrance as you face the building. It is marked on the brick wall.  There is a bell.  The attendance secretary will allow you to enter the waiting area.  Each volunteer will need to have their picture ID to be entered into our system.  At 12:30,  a class representative will meet the teams and walk them to the area for visitation.  The volunteers can leave directly from this area to their cars.

COVID Precautions: SITE – Mask must be worn at all times.  KPETS General – Visiting volunteers must have a signed KPETS volunteer agreement COVID-19 addendum on file with KPETS and follow current CDC, state and local COVID-19 guidelines during each visit. When the weather is warmer we prefer outside visits but when it’s too cold/inclement weather for that, we recommend one room designated as a visit area for attendees to come in one at a time to pet the animal. A professional staff person (teacher, therapist, etc.) must be present during the entire visit.  Everyone must wear face coverings and wash their hands/use hand sanitizer before and after petting the animals. Social distancing must be followed. If participants or our volunteers are uncomfortable at any time or believe the precautions are not being followed they will end the visit immediately for the safety of all. No one should participate if they are feeling at all unwell. Visits may be cancelled at the last minute due to the fluid status of state and local COVID precautions.
