Bridges at Bent Creek
2100 Bent Creek Blvd.

WHEN: Monthly visits starting Monday, April 12, 2021, at 2pm.

WHAT: Visit with seniors in the memory care unit. Approx # of Attendees: 30, Pet Type Preferred: Dog, Cat, Miniature Equine. They require vaccine records on all animals visiting the facility so be sure to take along a copy of your pet’s vaccination records.

COVID PrecautionsKPETS General – Visiting volunteers must have a signed KPETS volunteer agreement COVID-19 addendum on file with KPETS and follow current CDC, state and local COVID-19 guidelines during each visit. When the weather is warmer we prefer outside visits but when it’s too cold/inclement weather for that, we recommend: One room designated as a visit area for attendees to come in one at a time to pet the animal. A professional staff person (teacher, therapist, nurse, etc.) must be present during the entire visit.  Everyone must wear face coverings and use hand sanitizer before and after petting the animals. Social distancing must be followed with 6ft between our handler and participants. If participants or our volunteers are uncomfortable at any time or believe the precautions are not being followed they will end the visit immediately for the safety of all. No one should participate if they are feeling at all unwell. Visits may be cancelled at the last minute due to the fluid status of state and local COVID precautions. To protect the pets from becoming overwhelmed and tired, visits are limited to not more than 1 to 1.5 hours per team.   Site – “We require all volunteers to wear a mask at all times. They will need to sign in at our kiosk, acknowledging that they have not been exposed to COVID and do not have symptoms. If they have been vaccinated, we would like a copy of it to keep in our files (but this is not mandated). ”
